HVAC
In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating. This course provides general basic knowledge of the HVAC systems, basic tools, service procedures, and the understanding of gas heating equipment and controls. Emphasis is on practiced applications through hands-on lab projects. Instruction will include but is not limited to: local codes and safety guidelines, operation, and installation of various types of furnaces, troubleshooting of heating systems, service call situations, and customer service.
Students will learn to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and residential systems. Students work on fully operational cooling and heating systems in our new well-equipped HVAC Lab in Lockport’s Harrison Place. Students will obtain OSHA 10 certification.
